With a fresh perspective, the ADAM Quartet seeks to shine its unique light on the string quartet genre while staying true to its essence. In recent years, the quartet has performed on major stages and festivals, including Het Concertgebouw, TivoliVredenburg, String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam, Birds of Paradise Festival, Stift Festival, Klassifest, Down the Rabbit Hole, Schiermonnikoog Festival, and the Storioni Festival. Upcoming season, the ADAM Quartet will perform various concerts in America, Ireland, England, Poland and The Netherlands.
In addition to playing the traditional quartet repertoire, the quartet enjoys collaborating with contemporary composers, premiering many new works. Examples include pieces composed for the quartet by Kika Sprangers, Camiel Jansen, and Vinthya Perinpanathan. Their contemporary outlook also leads to collaborations with other music styles and disciplines, such as with Icelandic pop singer Laufey and dance collective ISH.
The ADAM Quartet has received masterclasses from members of Quatuor Danel, Quatuor Ébène, Ysaÿe Quartet, and Quartetto di Cremona, among others. In 2021, the quartet received the String Quartet Scholarship from the Kersjes Fund, and in 2024, they won third prize at the Triomphe de l’Art competition in Brussels. The quartet is also part of the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA), where they have been pursuing the post-academic program since 2022. In 2023, the quartet was selected to join the Music Cultural Heritage Talent Platform (MERITA), and in 2024, they will be the Quartet in Residence during the Zeist Muziekdagen.
